Renovation and Program
In greater Hartford, and throughout Connecticut, there is a significant need for emergency sheltering and support to secure and maintain stable housing. State-wide there was a 13% increase in the homeless population from 2024 to 2025.
Renovation:- Property restoration, including windows & roof replacement
- Electrical and plumbing for entire building
- Electronic safety & security systems, including doors & fencing
- Updated kitchen & laundry facilities
- New furnishings for guest rooms, community living & dining rooms & our Resource Center
- 23-private bedrooms, with bathrooms
- Meals, clothing & personal care items for all guests
- Homeless Prevention & Housing Placement
- Comprehensive Case Management & Counseling
- Youth Navigation & Crisis Shelter Advocacy Services & Employment
- Readiness referrals
- Transportation to & from job interviews
Campaign for Marshall House
The goal is to renovate our space, reinvest in our sheltering program, and most importantly make our guests' experience be filled with comfort, respect and dignity.
Founded in 1974 in Hartford, Marshall House is committed to providing a safe environment, support, and guidance for families who are faced with difficult periods in their lives. Our purpose is to reverse homelessness and give families and individuals a fresh start by helping them transition from homelessness to stability.
